Concrete Backyard Transformed into Deck and Asian Garden

This Seattle homeowner, due to age related problems, was finding it increasingly more difficult to navigate steps. The stairs leading from the lawn up to the patio and into the house presented a potential health hazard.  The concrete patio was very unattractive and the homeowner wanted a new look.   A new deck was built over the existing concrete patio, the number of steps leading to the deck was reduced from four to two, and the steps into the house eliminated.  An Asian theme was developed with appropriate plants, bamboo panels, and a small soothing water feature.
